Full Case:
In
March 2019 the bustling city of Bengaluru, a sinister tale of love, obsession,
and murder unfurled, shattering the peace of its streets. At the heart of this
chilling crime was Lakshmana, Bengaluru's wealthiest gangster, a man whose life
would take a dark twist.
Lakshmana,
aged 45, had amassed wealth and power through a life marked by crime and
violence. Notorious and feared, he had a rap sheet that included over 25 cases
of murder, attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping, and land grabbing. But his
criminal life was not the only facet of his existence.
Hidden
beneath his ruthless exterior, Lakshmana harbored a disturbing infatuation for
a 21-year-old girl named Varshini, who was pursuing post-graduate studies at
the prestigious Cambridge University in the UK. Varshini, the daughter of
Harish Sanjeevappa, alias Moote Harish, was a neighbor of Lakshmana.
Their
paths had crossed long ago, and a twisted connection had formed between them.
Lakshmana had known Varshini since she was a child, and over the years, he had
bestowed her with gifts, money, and attention. His obsession with the young
woman grew as she blossomed into a charming and intelligent young lady.
But
Varshini had a life outside the clutches of the notorious gangster. She was
deeply involved with another man, Rupesh R alias Rupesh Gowda, a resident of RR
Nagar who ran a dance class at Nagarabhavi. Their love story had a more
innocent beginning, with Varshini joining Rupesh's dance class a couple of
years ago. The two fell in love, and their relationship blossomed.
The
tensions in this twisted love triangle grew as Lakshmana's obsession deepened.
He could not bear to see Varshini in love with another man, a fact that ignited
an explosive jealousy within him. Harish, Varshini's father, was also deeply troubled
by his daughter's choices and asked Lakshmana to intervene, urging him to keep
Rupesh away from her.
However,
their pleas fell on deaf ears, and the situation took a sinister turn. As years
passed, the age gap between Lakshmana and Varshini became more pronounced,
fueling his obsession. He wanted to be with her, no matter the cost, and he
went to great lengths to make that happen.
To
separate the lovers and break their bond, Lakshmana devised a plan. He
convinced Harish to send Varshini to London for higher studies. In 2018, she
embarked on a journey to the UK's Cambridge University to study MSc in
Psychology, hoping to escape the clutches of Lakshmana's dangerous obsession.
However,
despite the distance and separation, Lakshmana's grip on Varshini did not
loosen. He continually sent large sums of money, amounting to several lakhs,
into her bank account, desperate to maintain control over her life. He was
willing to do anything to win her affections, even from afar.
Varshini,
torn between two men, struggled to balance her life in London with her past in
Bengaluru. Her love for Rupesh and her history with Lakshmana created a
tumultuous emotional turmoil. As time passed, Rupesh and Varshini feared that
Lakshmana would never allow them to be together.
Desperation led them to a fateful decision: if Lakshmana remained alive, he would forever be an obstacle to their love. To escape this torment, they hatched a sinister plan to eliminate him. Varshini transferred more than Rs 1 lakh to Rupesh's account, a chilling transaction to hire contract killers.
Rupesh
began his search for the perfect hitmen, digging into the underworld of rival
gangsters. He soon discovered a group led by Raja alias 'Cat' Raja, who had a
long-standing vendetta against Lakshmana. Raja and his associates sought
revenge for the killing of their comrade, Krishnamurthy alias Maccha, by
Lakshmana.
To
lure Lakshmana into the trap, Varshini devised a plan. She informed him that
she would be returning to Bengaluru on March 7 and requested him to book a
hotel room for their reunion. Obliging, Lakshmana made arrangements as Varshini
had asked.
March
7 would mark the culmination of this chilling plot. Varshini, having
manipulated Lakshmana's affections, called him with the news of her arrival.
Unbeknownst to him, every detail he shared about his movements was secretly
relayed to Rupesh, who in turn shared it with the hired killers.
The
sun was high in the sky when Lakshmana reached Renaissance Temple, situated in
front of Bell Apartment at Mahalakshmi Layout. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of
assailants, armed and ruthless, approached in vehicles. It was a picturesque,
yet ominous, scene, and tragedy was about to strike.
In
the midst of broad daylight, around 12:30 pm, the attackers descended upon
Lakshmana, hacking him to death in a ruthless assault. They left the scene as
swiftly as they had arrived, leaving behind a lifeless body.
The
chilling murder sent shockwaves through Bengaluru. As authorities delved into
the investigation, they unearthed a complex web of motives and relationships.
The revelation that the mastermind behind the murder was none other than
Varshini, a bright post-graduate student, sent shivers down the spines of those
following the case.
It was a story marked by obsession, betrayal, and a sinister plan, a story that would forever stain the streets of Bengaluru with the blood of its richest gangster. As the investigation continued, more dark secrets and unexpected twists awaited, leaving everyone to question the true depths of the human heart. The truth was far more complex and sinister than anyone could have imagined.
